Former Jharkhand Congress working president Manas Sinha joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, weeks ahead of assembly elections in the state. Sinha was reportedly unhappy with the Congress party for not being given a ticket in the upcoming assembly elections.
Jharkhand BJP working president Ravindra Rai and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also the BJP’s state election co-in-charge, welcomed Manas into the saffron party during a function at the party headquarters.
After joining the saffron camp, Sinha said, “I have served the Congress party and held various positions for the last 27 years. But, there is no respect left for the dedicated workers in the party. Therefore, I have joined the BJP.” “Decided to be.”
Sinha said that he has resigned from all posts of the Congress Party.
Sinha reportedly wanted a Congress ticket from Bhavnathpur seat in Garhwa district, which was allotted to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) as part of the India Bloc seat-sharing agreement.
Elections for the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly are to be held on November 13 and November 20. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.
Sarma alleged that there is no importance in Congress for those workers who dedicated their lives for the party. He said Sinha’s experience would be used to strengthen the party at the state level and win the elections.
Congress gives tickets to those who abuse PM Modi: Sarma
Sarma alleged that election tickets in the Congress party are given on three criteria – firstly offering money to the party, secondly being connected to prominent families of the MLA, MP or minister and thirdly abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On JMM’s demand to remove the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jharkhand, Sarma said that this could be the first time that a ruling party is demanding the removal of an officer.
Sarma said, “The officer has been appointed by the ruling government. Now, she is demanding his removal. Actually, they wanted the officer to help them politically but that is not happening.”
Jharkhand’s ruling JMM on Sunday wrote to the Election Commission demanding the removal of Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar and two senior IPS officers, alleging that they were working in favor of the BJP.,
