ETimes gave the film a solid rating of 3 out of 5. Our review says, “The first 30 minutes of the film is dedicated to Rajini and his fans. Soon, it turns into a fast-paced investigative thriller as Rajini goes full force with style and content. A predictable but engaging story with an introductory fight, a dance number, and fast-paced narration keeps the first part tight, even ending on an impressive note. But, the second half goes down a notch as the film starts becoming preachy and also seems long. The climax confrontation between Rajinikanth and Rana Daggubati is very clichéd. What is supposed to explore the moral dilemma of Rajinikanth’s character turns out to be yet another commercial caper with a rich vs poor story. The fights are written for whistles, but the action choreography is average.
